VU+ have consistently brought strong, quality products to the market, carving a very strong place between the original Dreambox receivers (SEE BELOW) & the cheap Enigma receivers & cheap clones with we think, the marketing & supply support of London's World Of Satellite & the all important software support, particularly the VIX team supported by World Of Satellite, but now many images teams & Blackhole programming team support VU+ receivers with images & pluggins/ cams etc.
Conclusion - Vu+ Solo 4k
Not the cheapest, but well built, well specified hardware & good software support. The VU+ Solo 4k was we think THE 1st 4k satellite receiver so it's been on test the longest & has proved as reliable as other Vu+ products.

The Dreamboxes were never cheap, costing far more than most receivers for the features & some say quality.
The market & rise in competition may have brought prices down & quality up at DM, the DM900 4k is too early to say yet & also there's the all important 3rd party software support which they don't have in the same way as many of the other receivers like the VU+ Technomates etc.
But Dreambox are still considered by many as the Rolls Royce of the Enigma 2 satellite receivers & customers who've owned original Dreamboxes are usually passionate about them & the issue of less software but software more under their direct control can definitely be a possitve to consider, especially since they designred & wrote the original base Enigma 2 system.
Conclusion
Dreamboxes are definitely considered at the high end of the industry they created, time will tell but Dream Multimedia are a German company & they know how to make good things good.

They came into the Enigma [1] market with much better quality, big box receivers than most & far better than the clone E1 market receivers & then entered the Enigma 2 market.
Their earliest entry had some issues with a hardware fault which they did a big recall at some expence to right the issue but put things very right with better & better newer models & gained considerable 3rd party support for what are well made & well supported Enigma 2 receivers. Their TM Twin 4k is pretty new but it's being well received.

Equipment features
Two built-in DVB-S2 tuners allow an independent twin use. one additional tuner slots offers the possibility to expand your device with DVB-T/T2 or DVB-C2 tuners. The strong processor offers the viewer a Ultra high resolution pictures and a never experienced rapid change-over time. Embedded ethernet controller and optional WiFi USB dongle can connect your TV directly to the Internet and any IPTV service provider.
This flagship product is built in our production facilities and includes a 2 year warranty. Featuring the powerful BCM7352s video processor is capable of playing back anything from video files stored on external USB/e-SATA drive to network based files or IPTV streams. Three high speed USB 3.0 ports and 2 x HDMI will be more than enough for external storage and expansion modules or devices.
Particularly user-friendly shows the GigaBlue in its operating options. Thus, the receiver can, for example, via GigaBlue Player app completely comfortable with the smartphone or tablet remotely without taking only the device's remote control in hand.
